A fault code or diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is a code that a vehicle uses to communicate and alert a person to a specific problem with an aspect of the asset, also typically indicated by a light on the dashboard.
You can view a history of fault codes for Ford OEM-connected assets or those with a CalAmp mobile device on the map in Historical tracking.
Note, if you want to view only active fault codes, read View asset fault codes (DTC)
- Click Monitor.
- Under Tracking, click Historical tracking.
- If there are any faults that were active or are currently active for the asset during the trip for the specified date range, they will be shown with an icon on the map.
-
The fault code is shown in a circle and the icon color is based on the severity of the fault - critical=red, high=orange, medium=gray low=green, info= blue. If there is more than one fault on the asset, the color of the icon will indicate the most severe fault. If the severity is not available, it will show as info.
-
Click on the icon to see a list of all faults that were active during that trip's period for the asset.
- You can export the list by clicking the Export button as shown on the screen above. Please note that the Occurrences column always shows the current total number of times the fault is received and is independent of the historical date range that is used. First detected is the date that the fault was first detected for that asset. Last detected is the date that the fault was last reported for that asset.
The position of the icon on the map is determined as follows:
- If a fault was active prior to a historical trip, the icon shows at the start of the trip.
- Faults that occurred during a trip will be shown on the map at the position where they occurred if the position was received.
- If a fault started during a trip and no position was received, the icon will be shown at the start of the trip. Multiple active faults without any positions will show only the most severe icon at the start of the trip.
- If multiple active faults were active during a trip at exactly the same location, only 1 icon will be shown, reflecting the most severe fault code on the map. Click the icon to see a list of the other fault codes.
