A fault code or diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is a code that a vehicle uses to communicate and alert a person to a specific problem with an aspect of the vehicle, also typically indicated by a light on the dashboard.
Users can view fault codes for all Ford OEM-connected assets or those with a CalAmp mobile device. Fault codes are processed and stored as a message type. View all active fault codes on the Assets page.
- Click Monitor.
- Under Fleet admin, click Assets.
- You can add the Faults column by using the column chooser at the top right:
Please note that this column will only be available for selection if the relevant CalAmp device or Ford OEM mobile device was made available for the organization.
- Only active faults are shown in this column and the icons will depict the severity - Critical=red, high=orange, medium=gray low=green, info= blue. If there is more than one fault on the asset, the color of the icon will indicate the most severe fault. If the severity is not available, it will show as info.
Active faults are faults that have not been resolved. If resolved, they will no longer be shown in the Faults column on the Assets page.
- Sort the Fault column by severity by clicking the column name at the top.
- Clicking the fault code description will show more information on the faults for that asset. You will be able to see the fault code, the category, the description of the fault, the severity, when it was first detected as well as when it was last detected, the symptom, action to take as well as the number of occurrences.
- Each active fault for the asset will display on a separate line.
- You can export all the faults on a specific asset to a .CSV file.
- You can sort the fault codes alphabetically by clicking on the Fault code column name at the top. First detected is the date that the fault was first detected for that asset. Last detected is the date that the fault was last reported for that asset. The Occurrences column shows the number of times the fault has been active for that asset.
- Click Close to return to the previous screen.
