You can edit channel names to custom, predefined labels, e.g. External camera, right side.
Please note however that default names cannot be edited or removed. This means only the channel names on the Streamax camera peripheral can be edited.
The peripheral can be configured at both library and template-level - enabling different configuration groups to be created with different camera names assigned. Please note that this cannot be changed at asset level.
Note that making changes to the library will affect the defaults used when creating a new template. If a template has already been created, the camera channel names will not automatically be replaced with the new library values when they are changed. You need to create a new template with these new library defaults or you can edit an existing template.
Edit and assign channel names in the peripheral library:
- Click Manage.
- Under Config Admin, click Libraries.
- Click the Peripheral library tab.
- Search for the Streamax peripherals and click on the Streamax camera peripheral.
Note: Default camera channel names (Road, In-Cab, and Driver) are shown on the Streamax C6D AI and Streamax AD Plus peripherals and cannot be edited.
- Click Add entry to add a custom channel label.
- Enter a mandatory descriptive name.
- Click Save.
- Click the Assign to channels tab on the top right.
- Assign names to the camera channels by clicking on the dropdown list. You cannot assign the same camera name to more than one channel. Names can be assigned to any of the channels. You can assign the peripheral to the mobile device without any labels or some channels can have labels and some not. In this case, the label will just display the channel name.
- Click Save.
Add more custom labels on the camera name tab at the top. In this example, there are 3 default labels and 1 custom label.
Edit channel names at template-level:
- Click Manage.
- Under Config Admin, click Templates.
- Click the Mobile device templates tab.
- Search for the template used in the configuration group that you want to edit.
- Click the name of the template.
- Click on the name of the connected peripheral to access the properties.
Note: Default camera channel names (Road, In-Cab, and Driver) are shown on the Streamax C6D AI and Streamax AD Plus peripherals and cannot be edited. Therefore only the Streamax camera peripheral channel names can be edited.
- Click Add entry to add a custom channel label.
- Enter a mandatory descriptive name.
- Click Save.
- Click the Assign to channels tab on the top right.
- Assign names to the camera channels by clicking from the dropdown list. You cannot assign the same camera name to more than one channel. Names can be assigned to any of the channels.
