Permission: You will need the permission "Organization settings - Video settings" to access this feature.
You can define video data usage thresholds per asset and per organization to warn when data usage exceeds defined threshold levels.
Please note that this will not stop further data recording but only notify selected recipients by means of an email when the threshold is about to be reached (80%) and again when it is reached.
- Click Manage.
- Under Operations, click organization settings.
- Click the Video settings tab on the left.
- To set a data threshold for the entire organization, enter a value in the organization video data usage threshold box for a certain amount of MB. The organization value must be higher than the asset value if entered.
Thresholds values are based on monthly video data usage from the 1st of each month.
- Enter a video data threshold MB value per asset in the field next to this. Again this is a monthly threshold that starts on the 1st of each month.
If these are left blank and the values are zero MB, no notification alerts will be raised.
- Choose recipients for the email notifications by clicking Select recipient. If you need to add a new recipient, click on the text If the recipient does not exist - click here to add. You must at least select one recipient
- Click Save.
The recipient will receive two emails, one when the data usage is 80% of the threshold value and another when the data usage reaches the threshold values. You will receive a notification for the asset threshold as well as a notification for the organization threshold. The specific asset name will be included in the notification as shown in the example below:
Please note that the data usage amount (XMB) displayed in the email notification is an estimate of the actual value that has been reached by the asset and not exactly the threshold value that has been entered in the settings as it depends on the speed of downloads, etc.
