Troubleshooting MiX Vision AI faults with recommended actions
No positioning for a long time
Camera installation angle abnormal
SD Card is full / capacity exceeds limit
Power loss
This root cause is if the unit did not have a controlled shutdown.
- Check for a wiring issue.
- An accident occurred causing power disconnection.
- Potential power isolation switch for some installations where they cut the power as soon as the ignition is switched off, like for fuel tankers. (This is not a recommended installation use case).
Video loss
- Check the physical connection of the cameras.
- A firmware upgrade might cause this, especially on the in-cab and DSM cameras.
- Using video loss on an unconnected camera.
Memory does not exist
Possible causes: memory is not installed; poor memory contact; memory failure.
- Check the storage device installation
- Replace the memory
Memory not formatted
Possible causes: A new drive was added and not formatted via the device's interface.
- Format the memory
- Re-format drive via device settings.
Memory write error
Possible causes: memory physical damage; wrong file system; faulty drive. This means that the number of reads and writes of the SD card or HDD exceeds the upper limit.
- Change the SD card or HDD.
Memory partition error
Possible cause: memory partition error.
- Format memory
Memory corruption
Possible cause: memory damage.
- Mild continuous attention.
- Heavy requires memory replacement.
No locator module
Possible causes: module does not exist; antenna short circuit.
- Check the antenna and connection status
Invalid positioning data
Possible causes: masking/shielding; electronic device interference
- Check the surrounding environment and antenna position
- Check the surrounding interference devices
Positioning antenna abnormal
Possible causes: antenna open/short circuit; Poor antenna contact
- Check the antenna damage condition
- Check the antenna connection status
No positioning for a long time
Possible causes: surrounding environment influence; wiring fault; positioning module failure
- Check the damage of antenna
- Check the module connection status
Camera failure
Possible causes: camera connection abnormal; camera peripheral failure; camera blocking
- Check the camera connection status
- Replace the camera
- Clear the camera blocking object
Camera installation angle abnormal
Possible causes: camera is damaged by man
- Check the vehicle.
SD Card is full / capacity exceeds limit
Possible causes: When using the “lock” functionality.
- This should not be used as the device needs about 1GB free for file handling. When you use lock, the device cannot delete old videos which will result in the exceeded capacity error.
- Disable lock functionality.
No recording
Possible cause: the camera or device
- Verify that video for each camera is shown when connecting to the unit (MiX Fleet Manager or the app).
- Ensure the HDD/SD is working (can be detected by PC ).
- Check the record settings.
SD card loss or SD unrecognized / no mount
Possible cause: When the device cannot detect the drive, or when the drive was taken out from the device.
- Ensure the drive is seated well by removing and re-inserting.
- Check if the HDD/SD can be read by the PC.
- Check the HDD/SD connector of the device.
Partitioning error
Possible cause: The drive used with the device cannot be partitioned by the system or the partition of the HDD cannot be recognized.
- Verify if using partitions and that have been created correctly.
- Re-format drive via device settings.
