Events are recognized by the mobile device when a combination of one or more conditions becomes true. You can set up these conditions when editing an event in the event library or when editing the events in the event template.
A condition is the combination of a parameter, an operator, and a trigger value.
For example, the default Over Speeding event occurs when the road speed parameter is greater than
75 mph.
Parameter – Select the parameter for which a value must be returned, e.g. “Ignition Off” or “Door
Open” are examples of parameters.
Operator – Operators are used in the definition of an event to relate a parameter to a trigger or
threshold value. Valid operators are greater than (>), less than (<), treater than or equal to
(>=), less than or equal to (<=), and equal to (=).
Trigger Value – A trigger value is a threshold value, e.g. 75 mph or selecting true or false, etc. that determines when a condition is true.
- Click on the condition after which you would like to add a new condition and click the '+'. You can duplicate conditions, remove conditions and move them up or down. Clicking the star * next to the condition name makes a condition required and clicking it again (when it is grey) makes it an optional condition. See below for an example of conditions for a cold chain, cooling unit off while driving event:
