HERE maps allow users (the community) to submit map corrections and additions using their Map creator tool.
Step 1: Log in to the tool
- Go to: https://mapcreator.here.com/
- You have to register (free) if you have never used the tool before. If you are a MiX Telematics employee you can use your MiX Telematics email account so that HERE knows the request is from MiX and can prioritize these accordingly.
- You will receive an email that your account is set up.
- Verify your account by confirming your email address and then sign in.
Step 2: Search for and check the map
- Search for the location on the map where you found the issue using address search or GPS location.
- Make sure the issue still shows in the map creator tool. It may be that another community member has already suggested the corrections but the update has not been released yet.
- Use the map tool to help you search for your issue:
For example, find an incorrect road speed section using the "Highlight roads by speed limit" button as shown below:
Step 3: Submit your corrections/ additions
- By submitting a customer support ticket. This is a slower route if you have a single map update but a good option if you have a list of corrections or an unusual request. A customer ticket will allow you to attach a document so you can submit one request for a number of/bulk updates.
- You can make the change to the map directly:
- When you select a road, place of interest etc. you can review its attributes.
- Each attribute can be altered.
- Once done save your changes.
Step 4: Check your submission
- Your feed will show the issue you have reported and the status of the request.
- Remember to select the right category from the dropdown e.g. "Roads" to see the details:
Note, HERE has a process for map updates. Requests are queued, verified and validated. Once approved, changes will be rolled up and released into their next quarterly map release.

HERE base map updates
HERE map base e.g. satellite maps, cannot always be updated using the creator tool. Each year HERE plans quarterly releases to roll out updates. If you have an issue with a particular area that has not been updated after +3 months, please contact support to follow up.
