You can search by latitude and longitude in the maps or you can use an address to search and convert it to a latitude/longitude value. You can also use a pre-defined custom location.

Geocoding
Allows you to translate an address into a GPS location with latitude and longitude values, which you can use to place markers on a position on a map.
