When a journey is split into two journeys due to, for example a bus reaching passenger limits, the first journey must be updated via MiX Fleet Manager to apply a route update (typically to remove destination waypoints that will be included in the new journey), before the new journey is submitted.
- Apply a route update via MiX Fleet Manager to remove stops that will not be covered by the asset that reached capacity.
- Manually complete the journey via MiX Fleet Manager if it does not auto complete.
- Create the journey covering the remainder of the route as a draft (not with submit attribute as TRUE).
- Identify an available asset that is not yet allocated to a journey that is in progress or is attached to an overlapping journey.
- Submit the journey with an available asset.
The in progress journey must be updated and completed timeously to avoid another journey being submitted with the same asset from which the route was split keeping the new journey in an approved status.
