What must I do when a journey is submitted, starts correctly but midway through the journey the asset is substituted due to e.g. breakdown for instance:
- Apply a route update via MiX Fleet Manager to remove stops that will not be covered by the previous asset associated with the journey, e.g. the asset that has broken down.
- If the journey was not completed automatically, manually complete the journey to free up the allocated asset, either by clicking on the journey in the monitoring screen or via MiX Integrate.
- Create a journey containing the substituted asset as a draft (not with submit attribute as TRUE when using MiX Integrate).
- Some route plans are resubmitted via MiX Integrate to account for the asset change, leaving the in-progress journey in an incomplete status. So even though the new journey is submitted on a different asset, the original journey on which the breakdown occurred is not updated and completed via MiX Fleet Manager.
As a result, the “abandoned” in-progress journey will hold back any new journeys submitted on the original asset that will be stuck in approved status until the in-progress journey is updated and completed.
Solution:
- Identify an available asset that is not yet allocated to a journey that is in progress or linked to an overlapping journey.
- Submit the journey with an available asset.
