For each HOS event, including vehicle position information, the ELD must convert automatically captured vehicle position in latitude/longitude coordinates into geo-location information, indicating approximate distance and direction to the name of the nearest city, town, village, municipality or the location on a highway or in a legal subdivision, and abbreviation of the province, territory or state.
- For all automatically captured events (work state changes, intermediate logs, changes in operating zone or cycle etc.), the latitude and longitude is looked up and the geo location information is then displayed (e.g. 8,3 km SSE of Toronto, ON).
-
For all manually captured events on the MiX ELD (Rovi), the driver will enter a distance to the closest state and town.
-
For all manually captured events on the Log viewer, the geo location will be looked up for the address or location entered.
