Driver scorecard
The Driver Scorecard model calculates scores based on a point system where penalty points are added when pre-set occurrence or duration thresholds have been exceeded on specified events. This is then calculated per 100 kilometre/miles. This value is not configurable.
- Click Manage
- Under Operations, click Organization settings.
- Click the Scoring tab on the left.
- Click the Driver scorecard scoring tab at the top.
The Driver scorecard screen will contain default events, but any events can be added or removed, up to a maximum of 25 events.
- Start by choosing which events you want to include by clicking Add events. All the diagnostic events will be filtered out when choosing events.
- Select if the score must be based on the occurrence of the event or the duration of the event by choosing from the dropdown list under the Score on heading.
- Under the penalty points heading indicate the number of penalty points that should be accumulated against a specific event once it has occurred.
- If duration is selected, you need to enter an amount for cumulative violation time per second, under the relevant heading - Cumulative violation time(sec) - this specifies the duration limit in which a penalty can be applied, e.g. if you specified 10 seconds for over speeding, for every 10 seconds within the driver's over speeding duration a specified penalty point will be applied.
- Specify the values for the amber band - Once you save these numbers, your green band is automatically defined as any score lower than your amber minimum and your red band is any score greater than your amber maximum.
- Overall score thresholds - will indicate the amber bands for the overall scores.
Please note: this scoring method will be applied across the organization.
How is the Driver scorecard score calculated - The Driver Scorecard algorithm
- The score is calculated per 100 km/mi.
- For each occurrence over a specified configuration duration (if available) a specified penalty point will be applied, e.g. for a harsh acceleration occurrence = 1 penalty point. Therefore, 5 harsh acceleration occurrences = 5 points.
- Event score = event penalty points X 100 ÷ distance traveled for the period specified.
- Overall score = sum of all event scores.
- Scoring is only applied to in-trip events.
You can generate the Flexible Driver Scorecard report when making use of the Driver scorecard scoring solution. This can be found in the Scoring folder.
