If enabled, when a driver uses any form of driver identification but was not created as a driver in MiX Fleet Manager and the trip data is downloaded, the system will automatically create a driver.
This means that when a trip has been downloaded for an asset but the driver ID does not exist, an Automatically Created Driver will appear in the database with the new driver ID.
Set this up as follows:
- Click Manage.
- Under Operations, click Organization settings.
- Make sure the Driver defaults tab is selected on the left.
- Enter a description that you would like to use for your automatically created drivers in the Automatically created driver name textbox. The default is Automatically created driver {ID}, where {ID} is either the blue plug's Driver ID if identified by plug or the Extended ID from the card or DTCO. Examples of good descriptions could be “new driver on database {ID}" or "new driver {ID} automatically created". As long as the {ID} token is used in the description.
- When the option "Assign automatically created drivers to associated asset's site" is checked, then the site on the automatically created driver will default to be the same as the asset. If left unchecked, then the site on the automatically created driver will be the default site.
- Check the "Auto create driver from blue plug" option if you want the system to create automatically created drivers. If this is left uncheck, a driver will not automatically be created.
- Click Save.
"Unmatched Extended DriverIDs" driver is added with a Driver ID of 1. This will log the extended ID from the card while using Driver ID 1 as the internal FM Driver ID for recording events, trip data, displaying on the terminal and sending active events. The unknown ID is matched to the known driver records in the database to reflect the actual driver for trips and events. If a match is not found a new driver record will automatically be added to the selected site and configuration group with the hexadecimal extended ID stored in the driver name. The user can then update the driver record with the actual driver name.
