Permissions: You will need the access permission Video download request to request the video.
You can request high-resolution (high-res) video footage or driver safety camera footage (DSM) from the video player that is displayed in Live tracking, Info hub, Historical tracking and the Trip timeline. If you are not using the MiX Vision AI solution, but the first-generation MiX Vision, read Requesting MiX Vision video clips.
Note: the HR videos are not stored on the server but on the SD card of the camera and are thus requested from the device. It is therefore important that the vehicle where the camera is installed needs to be on to process the request. If the camera is not switched on there is going to be a delay in delivering the footage.
- Click Monitor.
- Under Tracking, click Live/Historical tracking - use Historical tracking if there have been no asset positions in the last 48 hours.
- View the MiX Vision AI event by clicking on the video camera icon, either by viewing the trip in Live tracking or by expanding the trip list in Historical tracking.
- Click on the Request high-res video button on the video player.
- On the popup, select which camera you would like to request the video footage from. The channels displayed here will depend on your installation.
- Click Submit.
Note: The clip duration of the high-resolution event videos will be 16 seconds.
When a request is successful, an email will be sent containing links to download the videos for each channel you selected. If the video is no longer available on the camera (if the buffer has been overwritten and the video is no longer available) it will be highlighted in the email. The emails are processed once the vehicle is in trip again.
The availability of HR video is dependent on the size of the SD card fitted on the unit. On a 32 GB SD card, you only have about 4 hours of ignition time that can be retrieved historically. It stores about 9 hours of historic data on a 64 GB SD card. This means that you will not be able to request footage of say, 2 days back for example if your device is permanently powered on.
