Permission: You will need the "Mobile device settings - Remove mobile device/decommission" permission to use this feature.
Follow these steps to decommission an asset:
- Click Monitor.
- Under Fleet Admin, click Assets.
- Select the specific asset by clicking the link in the asset description column.
- Click on the Mobile device settings tab.
- Click on Remove mobile device.
- Check the box "move asset to nominated decommissioned site" to move the asset to the decommissioned assets. This is for ease of administration and to easily find and/or audit your decommissioned assets.
- In the drop-down list, select the decommissioned site.
- Select whether you want the asset to remain billable (active) by checking the override inactive flag option.
- Add notes if necessary.
- Click Remove.
You can create a new decommissioned site or mark a site as a decommissioned site.
From Release 21.9, the asset VIN field is going to be a unique identifier therefore when an asset is decommissioned, the VIN field will be cleared to ensure that there are no duplicates.
Note that all active fault codes will be removed when decommissioning an asset.
