You commission your asset when you link your asset to a mobile device (MiX 4000, mobile phone, MiX Vision AI, EOM integration, etc.) in MiX Fleet Manager.
Please note that the information that is required when commissioning an asset will differ depending on the type of device that is in use.
- Click Monitor.
- Under Fleet Admin, click Assets.
- Select the specific asset by clicking the link in the asset description column.

- Click on the Mobile device settings tab.
- The device type will determine the actions and fields that are shown; this can be changed by clicking the Change mobile device button.
This should only be done if a different mobile device has been installed in the vehicle as it may cause the unit to stop working!
- Enter a unique identifier if needed.
- MiX 2000, MiX 4000 and MiX 6000 devices - IMEI
- MiX Vision standalone camera - serial number
- Tabs devices - serial number
- OEM integrations - VIN.
- Teltonika devices - IMEI
- MiX Asset trackers - IMEI
- Mobile phones - mobile phone number.
- MiX Talk - IMEI number and mobile phone number
- Iridium - IMEI
- CalAmp - IMEI
- AEMP - equipment ID or generated unique number.
- The configuration status is automatically populated by the current configuration status of the asset. You can refresh the status by clicking the refresh button:
- Complete the required fields (these fields will auto-populate according to the specified template).
Note that these fields are only displayed when commissioning an FM unit:
- SIM card PIN code - enter the PIN for the SIM card.
- GPRS:
- Access point name (APN) - enter the access point details if required by your service provider.
- APN username - enter the access point details if required by your service provider.
- APN password - enter the a access point details if required by your service provider.
- GSM:
- MSISDN number - enter the MSISDN number details if required by your service provider.
- SMS:
- Mobile device SMS number - enter the device SMS number if required by your service provider
- Message center number - enter the message center number if required by your service provider.
These settings are very sensitive as incorrect input could make the device stop working. Note that you require special permission to change these settings.
- Click Save.
