The status of an asset is an indicator of when an asset is not available, e.g. if it was in an accident and is begin repaired.
You can easily let everyone in your organisation know that an asset is not available by simply changing it's status.
Changing Asset Status
When an asset is first created, the default status is Available. To change the status follow the steps detailed below:
- Click Monitor.
- Under Fleet Admin, click Assets.
- Select the specific asset by clicking the link in the asset description column.
- Click on the Asset status tab.
- In the drop-down select the asset status, e.g. accident.
- Select whether the status will expire on a specified date e.g. when an asset goes into the workshop or if the status never expires e.g. when an asset has been sold. (If an expiry date has been set, once the expiry date has been reached, the status will revert to available.)
- Provide any relevant detail in the notes section.
- Click Save.
Once saved, the status displayed on the top toolbar will reflect the changes made.
