Add an asset – Help Centre

There are three methods of adding a new asset to the organization. You can either create a new asset or you can duplicate an existing asset or alternatively you can import a list of assets.

Click Monitor.
Under Fleet Admin, click Assets.
Click on the add icon -
Enter the relevant information - note that the field marked with a red asterisk are compulsory.
Click Save.

Asset Description - enter a descriptive name for the asset you want to monitor.

Asset type - select the type of asset you want to monitor.

Registration Number - Registration number for the asset.

Site - the site is the physical location or grouping at which drivers are based and/or from which assets are operated. This grouping can be per region, state, department and any other grouping that makes sense in your business.

Configuration Group - select the configuration group from which the asset will derive its main configuration.

Country - the country the asset operates in.

Fleet number - a number that has been allocated to the asset within the business structure. (Note: must be between 1 and 10 characters for ELD customers, validation enabled on all US HOS rule sets.)

Vehicle identification number (VIN) - is your asset's unique code. (Note: must be 17 characters for ELD customers, validation enabled on all US HOS rule sets.)

Make - the asset is made by which manufacturer.

Model - asset model.

Year - year that the asset was manufactured.

Engine Number- engine number of the asset.

Fuel Type - the type of fuel that the asset uses.

Target fuel consumption - enter the asset's target fuel consumption for analysis on entered fuel transactions.

Fuel tank capacity - enter the capacity for correct analysis on entered fuel transactions.

Asset ID - the number used to uniquely identify the asset to the system. This number is stored in the unit. When creating an asset you choose this number, which may be in the range -32,768 to 32,767. If the field is left blank the system will allocate the next available number to the asset. It is possible to specify a range of ID's that should be allocated when an asset is assigned to a specific site.

Additional mobile device - this field should be populated with the serial number or IMEI number of the stolen vehicle recovery device fitted to the vehicle.

Notes - any notes which pertain to the asset.

Tracking Icon & Color - select the icon and color of the icon (this is the image that will be displayed on the tracking maps and it does not necessarily have to be the actual color of the asset that is completed in the next box).
