A request is sent to an asset to query the current position of the mobile asset. The mobile device will reply with the asset's AVL.
- Click Monitor.
- Under Tracking, click Live tracking.
- Make sure the Assets tab is selected.
- Check the box next to the relevant asset.
- Click the actions arrow at the end of the row.
- Click Request current position.
- You can select the transport method from the dropdown list. GPRS is the default.
- Click Submit.
- You will get a confirmation message, "position requested" indicating that the message has been sent to the mobile device.
- You can view the latest position by clicking view asset details or by hovering over the asset icon on the map. (Click Go to asset to zoom to the asset's position on the map.) The last position date and time should be the time you requested the position from the asset.
You can also set up an Info Hub stream by selecting the "Commands to mobile device" option to be notified of these in the Info Hub.
Note that the availability of this feature is based on your mobile device type. This is only supported by the following mobile devices:
- FM and Tracer units
- MiX 4000
- MiX 6000
- Teltonika - Deafult, GPRS is the only option that is supported.
