This article describes how to use the Live Tracking feature.
- Click Monitor.
- Under the Tracking heading, click Live tracking.
The vehicles will be listed on the left and displayed on the map to the right.
See the number of assets in my site/organization
- The number of assets is displayed in a green counter next to the heading - this count displays the number of all assets in the site or organisation, depending on your selection and not just the selected assets in the list below.
See the status of the asset
- The status of the asset is depicted by the round button in the list on the right.
- Green - asset is moving - the asset is moving (3mph) with a time interval since the last AVL position less than the requested AVL interval.
- Orange - last received data is old - the asset is moving (3mph) with a time interval since the last AVL greater than the requested AVL interval.
- Grey - asset is stationary - the asset is stationary (<3mph).></3mph).>
Only show selected assets
- You can select some of of the assets in the list and then check the Show selected assets box at the top to only view those assets. Clear the checkbox to show all assets.
Add or remove columns
- By clicking on the column selector located in the right-hand corner.
A check next to the column name indicates that the column is selected. Click the column name if you would like to deselect it.
These are the available columns that can be displayed in the list:- Asset description
- Asset icon
- Asset ID
- Driver
- Driver identified
- Fleet number
- GPS coordinates
- Heading
- Ignition status
- Last active event
- Last active event value
- Last position
- Location
- Mobile device type
- Registration
- Site
- Speed
- Time in ignition
View additional details
Displays the vehicle details according to the last received AVL.
- Click on the dropdown menu located to the right of the required asset.
- Click View details.
- Click <-back></-back>on the top right-hand side to return to the asset list.
Go to asset
Zooms to the assets position on the map.
- Click on the drop down menu located to the right of the required asset.
- Click Go to asset.
View in new window
Displays the asset on the map in its own window.
- Click on the drop down menu located to the right of the required asset.
- Click View in new window.
- Close the window to return to the Live Tracking screen.
Lock on asset
To ensure that the map moves with the asset without having to follow it manually.
- Click on the drop down menu located to the right of the required asset.
- Click lock on asset.
Show trail on map
Shows the trail on the map.
- Click on the drop down menu located to the right of the required asset.
- Click Show trial on map
- Click Hide trail on map to remove the trail again.
View events in Live tracking
Events that are configured as active events are displayed on the map in Live tracking as they are reported into the system. The tracking interval and event information is based on the configuration of the event under the “Active” section. Passive events are recorded and shown in Historical tracking. Read Active and passive events to make sure your events are set up correctly.
Request current position
A request is sent to a vehicle to query the current position.
- Click on the drop down menu located to the right of the required asset.
- Click Request current position.
Send job
Opens the create job window to create and send a job to the specific asset.
- Click on the dropdown menu located to the right of the required asset.
Send message
Opens the send message window to create a message to send to the specific asset.
- Click on the dropdown menu located to the right of the required asset.
Diagnostics
Opens the diagnostics window for the specific asset.
Commands to mobile device
You can send a command to the OBC to do one of the following:
- Change the setting of the Relay drives to on or off.
- Change the daily sat message limit.
- Change the daily SMS (text message) limit.
- Clear message buffer.
- Click on the dropdown menu located to the right of the required asset.
- Click Commands to mobile device.
General Search filter
Find specific assets by typing in the filter bar at the top of the assets lists on the right.
- Type required text in the filter field, the search criteria can be according to any string that is listed in the columns.
The results will be displayed.
