Use Live Tracking to see the current status of your vehicle and view active trails on the map for the last 48 hours. Note that Live tracking is only available for positions within the last 48 hours. To view previous positions, you must use Historical Tracking.
- Click Monitor.
- Under Tracking, click Live tracking.
- Click on the Organization name to select the required organization and/or site. The organization name is listed in the first column and sites and groups in the next columns. You can search for an asset using the Miller columns.
- Make sure the Assets tab is selected.
- Check the box next to the assets you want to view on the map.
The assets will be listed on the left and displayed on the map to the right. The total number of assets is displayed in a green counter next to the assets tab heading- this count displays the number of all the assets in the site or organization, depending on your selection in the Miller columns, and not just the selected assets displayed in the list.
- You can select some of the assets in the list and then check the Show selected assets box at the top to only view those assets in the list. Clear the checkbox to show all assets.
The status of the asset is depicted by the round status button in the list (see above):
- Green - asset is moving - the asset is moving (> 3 mph or 3km/hour) with a time interval less than the next expected AVL.
- Orange - last received data is old - This happens when your vehicle has not sent a latest position, e.g. it went underground (e.g. into a basement parking, etc.) and will update as soon as a new position has been received by the system.
- Grey - asset is stationary - the asset is stationary (< 3mph or 3km/hour).
Remember that you can add or remove columns by clicking on the column selector located in the right-hand corner. A check next to the column name indicates that the column is selected. Click the column name if you would like to deselect it as shown in the image above. To keep the header row displayed when scrolling through a long list of assets or workers, click on Lock header in the column chooser.
Find specific assets by typing any required text into the general search filter bar at the top of the assets list on the left. The search criteria can be according to any text listed in the columns below.
- Your asset is depicted on the map by the icon and color you selected when you added it to the system.
- When multiple assets are in the same location, they are clustered together. Click on the blue circle to expand and view the individual assets.
Please note that the asset will not be plotted on the map if there has not been an asset position in the last 48 hours. Use Historical Tracking to view these assets and their details on a map.
You can click on the asset icon to view additional asset details like the asset description, location, last position, current speed, driver name and which way it is heading.
When viewing a MiX Tabs Beacon unit on the map it will display as follows:
- The icon ring color will be black.
- When the system knows the exact position (from GPS) the icon will be shown without a tilde (~). If the position was calculated using mobile base stations (MBS), which is reported from the asset, the icon will contain a tilde (~) as shown in the image below.
- The asset info bubble (when clicked on the icon) will also reflect the relevant source.
