Is there a delay in activation of the lane departure warning such that it cannot realistically be used to prevent/discourage departure? In other words, does the alert happen only once the vehicle has already moved partway between lanes?
No, the lane departure is a pre-warning, when the vehicle is approaching to cross the line.
Can you set up an "incident" event for an accident (extreme harsh braking) on MiX Vision AI to allow video data to be available immediately?
This event scenario can only be catered for using OBC events and not MiX Vision AI events. Even so, as an OBC event, it is still possible to associate video footage with the event.
Does the forward collision warning work during lower speed thresholds, e.g. during a traffic jam whilst setting the radio and slowly rolling forward without looking up?
No, the standard threshold setting for all AI events is 30km/hour or 18mph (excluding lane departure which has a higher activation threshold of 55km/hour or 30mph).
Why are MiX Vision events now selectable in RAG driver scoring?
MiX Vision AI detects risky driving behavior. Driver scoring creates a KPI which indicates to managers that there is a driver performance issue that affects both safety and fuel efficiency. Including MiX Vision AI events in the drivers' score make the KPI much more useful because it can now allow managers to act on risky driving behavior as well as poor driving performance events such as speeding, harsh braking, and harsh accelerating.
Can the yawning event be disabled in case the company policy is asking for the drivers to wear masks?
Yes.
Can fatigue (eye-closing) events be captured with sunglasses or at night with sunglasses?
Yes, fatigue events can be captured by the DSM camera behind sunglasses, provided the glasses do not have a coating that reflects or block infrared.
Can the cameras be configured to provide audible in-cab alerts to the driver and capture the event in MiX Fleet Manager but not record the video event?
Yes, configurations can be made [privacy mode] for driver audible warnings, events will be received and stored in MiX Fleet Manager and can be configured to which camera channel should not record video, i.e. in-cab camera.
Can I set up an "incident" event for an accident to allow video data to be made available immediately?
This event scenario can only be catered for using OBC (onboard-computer) events and not MiX Vision AI events. It is however still possible to associate video footage with the OBC events.
Will video footage for OBC-generated events be saved when the SD card has reached storage capacity?
Yes, the MiX Vision AI unit will continue to store video footage until the SC card capacity is reached where it will begin overwriting the older data. Normally the "end of trip" event from the onboard-computer will trigger the processes to request video footage for the OBC-generated events.
