Canadian ELD requirements specify that drivers must be able to change their operating zones from the Rovi IV or the Timeclock interfaces (although Timeclock will only be supported in a future release).
When a driver changes a rule set on a Rovi IV, the system will create a rule set change event and the admin user will not be allowed to change the rule set of the driver.
Admin users are however able to select a set of rule sets that will be available to the driver and displayed to the driver on the Rovi IV to select from.
- Click Monitor.
- Under Fleet Admin, click Drivers.
- Search for the driver by using the filter bar at the top.
- Click on the Hours of service tab on the left.
-
Select a required rule set by clicking on the rule set in the HOS rule sets box on the left and then clicking the top arrow → to add the rule set to the Selected box on the right.
Note:
Only rule sets with the relevant property that allows for multiple selection will allow you to select more rule sets. These are generally the Canadian rule sets. If you select a rule set that does not allow for multiple rule sets to be selected, the rule set in the Selected box on the right will only be replaced with the new one that is selected. See the demonstration below.
- Select multiple rule sets by adding them with the → arrow.
- Remove any rule sets by selecting them in the Selected box on the right and clicking the bottom ← arrow.
- You can set one of the rule sets as an active rule set by clicking the Set as active button. Note however that once a driver has selected a rule set on the Rovi, it cannot be overwritten by an admin user and the Set as active button will not be enabled.
- Click Save.
The rule sets will now be visible to the driver on the Rovi IV.
Remember that rule sets must be enabled for you to see them on this screen.
