- Create the asset on the "new" database using the exact same ID as on the existing database.
- Ensure your Unit Type, IP, APN Name and Pin number is correct. (IP address is set to that of the new database)
- Once completed, check if config can compile on the new database. You must be able to compile config on the new database before the transfer attempt.
On the existing ("old") database
- In the comms scheduler select the asset that needs to be transferred.
- Click on the Actions Tab / Edit Schedule.
- Upload via Transport method (GPRS default).
- In the Upload section make sure to select the Config checkbox (optional is the Force upload).
- In the Action section under Backdoor strings make sure to check the box "Move to organization", then select the organization and click Save.
If the asset is in a trip, a callback will be created whereby the schedule will execute as soon as the asset is in a "Armed" status.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Note that any changes in the config where new config gets compiled and selected to upload immediately will affect the transfer.
- The Upload scheduler needs to be run within the first 15 minutes after the vehicle went out of trip otherwise the transfer will be affected and will NOT work.
- If the vehicle is in trip or out of trip for longer than 15 minutes the transfer will NOT work.
Follow these steps:
- Click Manage.
- Under Scheduler, click Uploads.
- In the comms scheduler, select the asset that needs to be transferred.
- Click on the downward actions arrow and select Edit.
- Upload via Transport method (GPRS default)
- Click the Uploads tab on the left.
- Check the Configuration box.
- You can optionally check the Force upload checkbox too.
- Click the Actions tab on the left.
- Under the Backdoor strings section select the Move to Organization option and select the relevant Organisation and Save (before selecting Save ensure the correct database is selected – see below marked in red)
If this did not solve your problem, try the configuration of green plug to move FM unit from one database to another.
