The Route management library allows you to create, edit, and save routine routes without having to go into the journey creation wizard. Once a route has been created it can be made available or unavailable for use by submitting users.
- Click Monitor.
- Under Journey Management, click Libraries.
- Click on the Route management tab.
- Click on the Add route icon, .
- Enter the Route Description, e.g. Jacksonville Walmart delivery - Wednesday.
- The route ID will be generated automatically after creating the route.
- Select a site.
- Specify whether the route is for a car, light truck or heavy truck - the route optimisation feature is only available when using HERE maps.
- Set the start location by choosing an address, an existing (previously created) location or entering a latitude/longitude value.
- Add a stop duration.
- Check whether the stop is a rest stop, fuel stop, loading stop or off-loading stop.
- Add instructions if relevant, e.g. please remember that deliveries are not permitted during 12:00-13:00.
- Check the box if it is a return journey.
- Click Add.
- Add a stop location by scrolling up to where you can add a new address, location or latitude and longitude and follow the steps you completed to create the first stop.
- Repeat the process until all the stops or locations have been created and you have created your end location.
- Click Save.
You can now make the route available. Once the route has been used in a journey it will be displayed in grey instead of green and you can view it but not edit it. Only a route that has not been used in a journey can be removed from the library.
