There are two types of tiered over speeding
1. Server-side tiered speeding events
This server-side event aggregates and rolls-up where multiple types of speeding occurred at the same time/overlapped. This event will first determine if an over-speeding in location (server-side) event occurred and then if an overlapping road speed (also server-side) event has occurred and then lastly, if fixed speed occurred as well. The event returns one value for all these overlapping events.

Event ID (12007 speeding - tiered)
Note: This must be enabled in the library.
2. On-board tiered speeding events
This event is selected when setting up RAG scoring for MyMiX and is an on-board event. This event aggregates and rolls-up where multiple types of speeding occurred at the same time/overlapped. The rule for this event is that it will first determine if an over-speeding in location (on-board) event occurred and then if an overlapping road speed (MiX Rovi only) event has occurred and then also if fixed speed occurred. The event returns one value for all these overlapping events.
Tier 1 = Location speed limit 12002 (location template over speeding in location).
Tier 2 = event ID 1
NOTE – This event is an on-board event and that is why it needs to use road speed obtained from the MiX Rovi, which is also an onboard event. Please note in order for this event to generate location-based speed events, it needs to be added to the device config. This event itself also needs to be uploaded to all assets.
Event ID 12003 (Over speeding - TIERED).
Note: This must be enabled in the library. Read how to set up on-board location speed monitoring in the On-board location speed monitoring section and select tiered speed as a speed measure when you look at your RAG reports.
Notes
- The SSE tiered speeding event eliminates the need for the RAG+ report as it offers the same functionality within this one event from a server-side perspective. Current RAG+ customers who still require to select on-board location speed events and road speed server-side events will however have to remain using the RAG+ report.
- Always take note of unit types' capabilities and what they are able to generate with regards to events, etc. as that will have an impact on drivers' results if they operated assets with a unit type that can, for example not generate excessive idle events.
