It is possible to use multiple means of driver identification in a fleet. When using a third-party device, the driver will be identified by an extended driver ID.
The driver's unique extended ID can be a hexadecimal number (allowed digits are 0-9 and A-F) of up to 32 characters used to identify the driver to certain third parties. For the digital tachograph (DTCO), the number will need to be 16 ASCII characters.
You can enable a smart card / Dallas Tag or DTCO for a driver.
- Click Monitor.
- Under Fleet Admin, click Drivers.
- Click on the relevant green hyperlinked driver name.
- Click on the Extended driver ID tab on the left.
- Select the type of driver identification that will be used, e.g. Smart card / DTCO, etc.
- Enter the required characters that will serve as an identifier.
- Click Save.
