Rule – Current position is recorded in or out of location and speed is > 9,32mph (calculated from 15km/h). Previous position was out of trip and was in the location.
Typical Event Description – Started in location.
Returned Value - Location Name.
Setting it up
- Select "Location started", on the third tab, called, Events.
- Choose whether you would like the event to be recorded when the asset or driver has started in the specified locations or outside of the selected locations (i.e. whilst not in the selected locations).
- Now select the relevant location/s that must be used to evaluate the rule. Note - the option to select all the locations are not provided as this could cause undesired system performance if not used cautiously.
- Now choose if you want to record the event "Anytime" or "Between selected times", which also includes day of week options. You might want to set up an event to only record on weekdays, between 7 am and 8 am for example or on weekends, after hours only. See example below.
- You can opt to exclude speed from the condition, which will then trigger the event without taking speed into consideration. This option has been added to cater for instances where in-trip status is the only requirement to generate the event (e.g. where a vehicle was hijacked and the alerts did not generate because the vehicle was pushed away). Note however: using this exclusion is discouraged if not confirmed with technical team in order to understand the potential implications. This event type usually has rule conditions of an in-trip status as well as speed before it will generate. By excluding speed you will remove it as a rule condition and it will only require an In-trip status to be true.
