Config admin is made up of three areas that are interlinked:
- Libraries
- Templates
- Configuration groups
Libraries and templates are the foundation for the configuration of your assets. Once these two are setup, configuring an asset is as simple as allocating an asset to the correct configuration group.
1. Libraries
Libraries consists of these:
- Mobile device library
- Events library
- Peripherals library
- Parameters library
- Firmware library
Within the different libraries you specify what should be enabled or made available on the database. This required making available, adding or editing. This is where the standard configuration library for the organisation is defined.
2. Templates
These are made up of mobile device templates and event templates.
Using the mobile device templates you define the mobile device type, for example MiX 6000 and the specific settings including connected peripherals and their settings.
In an event template you will define events that will be geared towards the make and model of the asset or even the connected peripherals.
3. Configuration Group
Configuration groups are made up of a mobile device template and an event template. As assets are created you can add them to the configuration group, which means that the asset inherits the mobile device settings, peripherals, firmware and events.
If any changes are required to the mobile device or the events the specific mobile device template or the event template can be changed and this will cascade down to the assets in the configuration group removing the necessity of having to configure each asset individually.
