Please note: The Location template will only be visible when a mobile device template has the on-board location speed monitoring feature enabled.
Any necessary changes can be made to the location template and these changes will only impact the settings for that template.
Note that changes made to a location at library level will not cascade to the template level.
- Click Manage.
- Under Config Admin, click Templates.
- Click on the Location templates tab on the left.
- Click the add location template button:
- Enter a name for the template.
- Click Select locations.
- Check the boxes next to the location that you want to select, remember that you can search for locations by typing in the filter bar at the top. Select all the locations by checking the box next to Location in the header.
- Click Select.
- Click Save.
The locations, in a location template, are loaded onto the unit via a normal config upload. Because with MiX Rovi II when doing a normal config upload, it initiates a Large File Transfer (LFT) load to the unit, you may want to view the progress under File Transfers:
- Click Manage
- Under Scheduler, click File Transfers:
Editing a location, used in the location template, will put the assets using this template into a “Config changed” status.
Please note that although the location template does support polyline locations to accommodate those location types on the MiX Rovi, the FM unit does not support polyline locations.
Thus do not choose a polyline location when you are uploading the template to an FM unit as these are only supported on the MiX Rovi.
You can now add the location template to the required configuration group. Read Configuration group containing mobile device template.
