Enable the ELD functionality in MiX Fleet Manager by following these steps:
- Make sure the organisation has been enabled for the Hours of Service (HOS) functionality.
- Make sure that the rule set selected for this organisation is either a US rule set and/or a Canadian rule set as only these will allow users to make use of ELD-mode.
You can now enable your drivers to start using the ELD functionality:
- Click Monitor.
- Under Fleet Admin, click Drivers.
- Search for the driver by using the filter bar at the top.
- Select the specific driver by clicking the link in the driver Name column.
- Click the Hours of service tab on the left.
- If not enabled, check the box next to the Hours of Service enabled for driver checkbox.
- If you select a HOS rule set that requires a driver to be ELD-compliant, the Electronic Logging device (ELD) checkbox will automatically be selected and cannot be deselected.
- Complete the required fields.
- Check the box if the driver must be enabled to Allow personal conveyance driving. (This applies when using the vehicle for non-work-related purposes, e.g. driving from work to home or to a place of rest.)
- Check the box if the driver must be enabled to Allow yard move driving. (Yard moves apply when moving the vehicle around a yard or terminal and not driving on the road.)
You can also copy these settings to other drivers in your organisation by using the driver import feature.
