A potential issue has been discovered in the latest MiX 4000 firmware release, version 4.16.2, where drivers may not be correctly associated with sub-trips.
The rollout of firmware 4.16.2 is still reasonably limited. However, to prevent it from being loaded onto additional assets while a fix is being developed, it has been removed from all production servers.
More information
The driver is correctly linked at the start of the trip. However, in some cases, if there are additional sub-trips occurring later within the same trip, the positions and events from these sub-trips are not correctly linked to the driver.
In some situations, where the driver card or blue plug remains in the reader, the same driver will be identified for each new sub-trip and the impact is limited. However, where the driver ID is presented at the start of the trip and then removed, all positions and events for additional sub-trips will have an unknown driver.
Testing to determine the full extent of this issue and to ensure a reliable solution is currently underway and is a top priority. Further details, along with an updated version, will be communicated as soon as it becomes available.
Any installations currently loaded with firmware 4.16.2 that are not displaying the identified driver correctly should be rolled back to version 4.14.8 to ensure reliable driver ID behavior.
